The judgement call

Account-gated at launch

* The project was a key component of a wider regional transportation development for Nottingham, aiming to support economic growth and competitiveness. * Secured £12m additional funding from the UK's first Workplace Parking Levy (WPL) scheme. * Emphasis on enhancing passenger experience, improving city connectivity, and encouraging greater opportunities for regeneration and investment. * Successful delivery through a collaborative partnership between multiple public and private sector organisations.

Key engineering challenges

* Regenerating a Grade II listed historic station into a modern multi-modal transport hub while preserving its heritage. * Working within an operational station environment to minimise disruption to passengers and services. * Integrating various transport modes (train, tram, bus, taxi, car) within the immediate vicinity of the station. * Restoring original architectural features while incorporating modern infrastructure and accessibility improvements.
