EngTree
Become a Validator

Your chartership,
finally earning what it should.

EngTree pays chartered engineers (CEng / IEng / international equivalent) to verify the knowledge entries that anchor every channel on the platform. Tiered fees, AI-assisted workflow, CPD-grade audit trail, fully remote.

*“The validation work I'd been doing pro bono on LinkedIn for years now has a price tag and a paper trail.”* — Margaret Sinclair, CEng FICE

Four reasons chartered engineers
are signing up early.

Real fees, not pro-bono LinkedIn comments

You're already validating content informally — answering questions in DMs, reviewing graduate work, fielding standards queries. EngTree puts a paper trail and a price tag on the work.

AI Pre-Check does the heavy lifting

Claude Haiku reads each submission first — flags stale standards, weak math, jurisdictional mismatches, plausibility issues. You arrive with the questions pre-sorted. Average 30-40% time savings per entry.

Every validation is institutional-grade CPD evidence

Pro Tier auto-exports your validation activity to ICE / IET / IMechE / IStructE / CIBSE portals. Your CPD audit just happens. Saves the 4-8 hours of year-end log-padding most chartered engineers resent.

3-8 hours a week, fully remote

Validators set their own pace. Quarterly revalidation retainers on evergreen entries (£40 per entry per quarter) build the recurring revenue layer.

Fee structure

Three tiers.
Paid by chartership weight.

Tier-3 validation pays the most because the liability is real. Tier-1 work pays less but turns over faster. Most active validators split their week across Tiers 1 and 2; Tier-3 specialists (e.g. structural collapse, gas safety, fire engineering) command the premium.

Tier 1 — General best practice

£50

per validation

Career advice, soft-skill content, methodology overviews. Experience-based validation.

Example entries you might validate

  • How to prepare for the CEng review panel
  • What graduate engineers should expect in their first 12 months
  • Communicating engineering decisions to non-engineering stakeholders

Tier 2 — Technical guidance

£150

per validation

Design approaches, calculation methods, code-of-practice interpretation. Multi-validator review.

Example entries you might validate

  • Bored-pile design in London Clay — Eurocode 7 α-factor methods
  • BS 7671 earth-fault loop impedance calculations
  • Hydronic balancing fundamentals for commercial HVAC

Tier 3 — Safety-critical

£400

per validation

Gas, structural, electrical, fire, geotechnical bearing capacity. Chartership-required. Liability framework binds.

Example entries you might validate

  • Settlement-monitoring protocols for live infrastructure
  • Fire-engineering performance-based design judgements
  • Geotechnical bearing capacity for non-standard ground

Plus quarterly revalidation retainers (£40 per entry per quarter) on evergreen content you watch over. Active validator earnings: £2,400-3,200/month at maturity, before Pro Tier CPD reciprocity bonus.
